Chris adheres to a firm set of principles: always lead the case, focus on results, steer toward solutions, and apply a tactical/results-oriented approach to every matter.

Chris developed this approach through years of hands-on experience.

After graduating from law school with honors, Chris
immediately began work as a litigator for a prominent regional law firm. He trained with a team of experienced trial attorneys and handled multiple jury trials in State and Federal Courts. During that time, Chris spearheaded numerous "underdog" court battles against large corporations, insurance companies, government agencies, and "big box" stores.

In 2016, his peers in the Cape May County Bar Association awarded him "Young Lawyer of the Year". In 2018, at age 31, Chris became a Partner in his firm.

In 2020, Chris founded his own firm, Gillin-Schwartz Law, where he continues to apply his unique brand of advocacy and counsel for a diverse range of clients and practice areas.

Chris maintains an active trial practice and is able to draw on that perspective and experience when guiding clients toward their intended goals.

PUBLIC APPOINTMENTS & SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY:

In addition to his private advocacy, Chris is an experienced municipal attorney, serving as the Solicitor (general counsel) for the City of Cape May and Solicitor for the Sea Isle City Zoning Board of Adjustment. Prior to those appointments, Chris served as Solicitor for the Borough of West Cape May.

In addition, Chris provides general counsel to Condominium Associations and helps private applicants navigate government approvals. In all cases, Chris prides himself on responsiveness, thorough preparation, and fierce advocacy for his clients.

Chris is an active member of the local and State bar associations. In 2023, he served as President of the Cape May County Bar Association.

When he is not working, Chris is an avid musician, ice hockey player, and dedicated traveler.
